Review: Levis Ribcage Straight Ankle Jeans
Ive decided to put on hold my search for the perfect pair of straight-leg jeans, but these Levis Ribcage Straight Ankle Jeans came pretty close. But I wish I hadnt sized up I prematurely ripped off the tags after trying them on and finding them comfortable without looking in the mirror. They fit true to size, with perhaps some extra room in the waist .
But on the whole, these jeans from Levis are quite affordable and comfortable. The heavier-weight materiala mostly cotton blend with just a touch of polyester and elastaneholds shape, but has some stretch. In terms of improvements, the 27 inseam is still too long on 52 me for an ankle-length style, so I plan to either DIY a raw hem or get them shortened professionally. I also wish the wash were lighter, but worn out is a versatile, inoffensive light blue .

While I have pretty long legs, I feel like I can still just get away with this inseam of 27 inches. They look especially amazing with high-shaft, lug-sole boots, which is how I plan to wear them all fall/winter. The leg is wider/looser than Levis Wedgies , but they both have the same phenomenal booty! Im genuinely interested in adding another wash to the mix. This non-distressed pair would be lovely for winter, or if you shop straight from the Levis website, you can also grab a longer inseam of 29 !

You can see in these photos that Ive been playing around with proportions. Traditional fashion rules tell me that since the jeans are on the looser side, I should stick with more-fitted tops and higher-heeled shoes for balanceespecially since Im 52 and curvy.
I personally, however, like the look and feel of the looser tops untucked with the loose jeans betterwith flat sandals or clogs for an ultra-relaxed and easygoing feel.

The cotton-lyocell blend makes them so, so soft in an almost-vintage, broken-in kinda way but without any stretch. The effect? The look and glove-like fit of rigid denim but oh-so-comfy. Fit Details: Im 55 with a straighter frame, a soft tummy, strong legs and a good bit of booty. I usually wear a size 25 in Levis , but I found the key to maintaining a perfect fit in these without sagging throughout the day was to size down to a 24.
